Pocket barcode scanners

A pocket scanner fits in a closed hand. It travels for stocktakes, field rounds and mobile selling, and connects over Bluetooth to a phone or tablet.

Three criteria separate the models:

• Battery life and memory mode, to scan out of coverage and upload on return
• Drop resistance, often lower than on a handheld model
• iOS and Android compatibility, to check against the business app

Memory mode changes everything for stocktakes: it lets you work in a stockroom with no Wi-Fi then upload everything at once, without losing a line.
