Payment terminals

A payment terminal takes card, contactless and mobile payments. The choice depends as much on the acquiring contract as on the hardware.

Three criteria separate the models:

• Connection: wired, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or 4G
• Integration with the POS software, to avoid keying the amount twice
• Battery life, if the terminal moves around the room

Integration with the POS software is what really counts. Keying the amount into the terminal by hand creates till discrepancies and slows every sale.
